The structure of the IPE wood is very hard, strong and naturally resistant to rot, abrasion, weather (rain, water) and insects. It has a medium to darker brown in color, just like a mahogany. So it will not only last a long time, but it has also the beauty of a fine interior wood. If IPE lumber is allowed to patina, the color can be brought back to its original state with the help of a cleaner and brightener.
